The Spiritual Graduation Issue

It’s an end of an era for me. Which means it’s (past) time to spiritually graduate. This might sound fun and exciting to you. However, if you’re as slow to spiritual direction as I am (when it comes to career) or as resistant to changing up how you do things (when it comes to how you make your money), as I am, you’ll understand that I’ve been in one form or another of AGONY during this process. Ask any of my inner circle.

No one…and I mean NO ONE is more thrilled with my recent surrender and leap of faith to go in a new career direction than they are. I’m sharing this because perhaps you’re in a transitional season as well. The only reason why it might feel miserable is if you’re resisting your own graduation (like I was).

I’ll share the specifics of what this means in my life and business in this week’s podcast below. My WHY for my mission hasn’t changed but the medium in which I’ll deliver it has evolved.

Spiritual Graduation

What Scripture has always taught, and the church forgot to mention:

The Bible is the most powerful wealth manual ever written.

Here is what no one tells you about graduating spiritually. The way you’re used to making money doesn’t get to come with you.

I don’t mean your wealth has to disappear (even though it temporarily might).

I mean you have to stop performing CPR to get the old ways to work.

You have to stop dressing up an old identity in a new outfit and calling it evolution. I spent months trying to make my former way of earning income inside a life that had already outgrown it, and every time I forced it, I felt poorer, not richer, even when the number in the account said otherwise.

Isaiah 43:18-19 says it plainly:

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

That is not a verse just about circumstances. It is a verse about money too. God is not asking you to abandon provision. He is telling you He will provide even when it looks like nothing is in sight, even in the most unlikely places.

The provision is changing shape, and you will miss it entirely if you keep scanning your life for the old stream instead of the new one already breaking ground under your feet.
