my name is Katrin and I find pleasure in dissecting the mundane, the implicit, and the imaginaries that shape understandings of these world(s). This is why, since a long time, I wanted to write a monthly newsletter about themes that are what I would call horizontal. Examples are:
Technologies and datafication
Futures, non-futures, loneliness and time justice
Feminisms, care and solidarities
Environments, water, territories, air
Outer space and internet
Politics of extractivism
I will also invite collaborators, interviewees, curators, and co-thinkers along the way. Learning from Max Liboiron’s book Pollution is Colonialism, I aim to make the ideas and knowledge(s) visible through quotes and footnotes.
to write and think here. I am afraid to use platitudes, and to state the obvious. English is not my first language. But this is the challenge and the goal of this newsletter. To dissect the obvious, and draw connections. To maybe even do features in Spanish, German, Farsi. So it will start and continue right here, and I am excited for what’s to come.
