Tiny housekeeping note: This 10-part series, Email Accessibility: How To Open Your Inbox To Everyone, will be worth it to email creators. Join me!
Do you want to make your email campaigns more accessible?
When emails aren’t accessible, people get left out. And so does your brand.
This impacts your performance, trust, and the bigger picture.
The truth is simple:
If your reader can’t read, click, or understand your email, they won’t engage.
And that’s a missed connection.
My friend Anna Maria, who is blind, was excited about Miild—a beautiful, skin-loving makeup brand I love using.
We tried subscribing to their newsletter, but it wasn’t accessible.
She couldn’t read or navigate it.
In the end, she gave up, and they lost a customer.
Sadly, their website isn’t accessible either. (But that’s another story.)
And that stings a little, because I genuinely love their products.
First off, you'll receive your email accessibility tidbits once a week.
You'll also receive a bonus guide in the coming weeks to help you write more accessible social media content.
Do you have any questions or suggestions?
I'd love to hear from you. Just reply to my email and I'll get back to you.
Remember, no matter how people access the internet, they should be able to read, understand, and enjoy your emails.
That means writing with care, designing with intention, and coding so assistive technology can do its job.
Does it take effort?
Yes.
But when your emails are truly inclusive, they don’t just reach more people. They include them.
And that’s always worth it.
See you next week. 💌
Lia
PS This email is a day late, I’m sorry.
My husband broke his foot yesterday, and things got a little chaotic.
