According to reporting by the Independent on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, the Current Occupant of the White House has been pressuring RFK, Jr., to find a link between childhood vaccines and autism. Before vaccines, people became physically and mentally disabled by diseases such as polio and measles. They were frequently placed in specialized hospitals, residential facilities, and large state institutions during the 1950s and 1960s. During this era, medical professionals often advised families to institutionalize their disabled family members due to a lack of community-based support and widespread societal stigma.

Vaccines against diseases like polio keep people healthy and prevent disability from conditions that could have been prevented. However, the Current Occupant and his co-conspirators, like RFK Jr., would rather have a dead person than an autistic individual. However, if someone becomes disabled due to lack of access to vaccines, they believe that states and territories don’t have to keep people with disabilities in the least restrictive environment possible, according to the Olmstead DOJ Memo. This isn’t only ableist but also a form of eugenics. This is why the Say No to Crip Crow Campaign, which calls for codifying the Olmstead decision into federal law by updating Section 2 of the ADA, is essential.
