My Favorite Way to Stay Consistent With Workouts (Without Ever Leaving the House)

If you’ve followed me for a while, you know that I’m all about finding systems that make life easier. Whether it’s cooking, getting dressed in the morning, or staying active, I don’t love making things more complicated than they need to be.

One of the habits I’ve kept up for years is working out at home, and honestly, I don’t see myself going back. Don’t get me wrong—I love a good workout class every now and then, but nothing beats the convenience of rolling out a mat, pressing play, and getting an amazing workout in before the day gets away from me. I usually even bang it out mid-day in between carpools or work calls.

Between driving, parking, waiting for class to start, and driving home, an hour-long workout can easily turn into two. Working out at home give me the flexibility to get it in when it works for ME and puts more time back in my day.

The Apps I Use on Repeat

The two workout apps I find myself recommending over and over are The Sculpt Society and Ladder App.

I’ve used The Sculpt Society for years and still love it. The workouts are fun, challenging without feeling intimidating, and easy to fit into a busy schedule. They offer everything from quick workouts to longer strength sessions, Pilates-inspired classes, stretching, and more. I especially love that the workouts all flow to the beat of the music- a MUST for me. Megan’s attitude is always upbeat and positive. She’s relatable as a busy and working mom but also really knows her stuff-she trains Victoria Secret Angels, Kate Hudson and Sabrina Carpenter to name a few! You can try out Sculpt Society with my code DINI for 25% off your first 2 months of annual plan.

More recently I’ve also been using Ladder, and I’ve been really enjoying it. The coaching style is different as it’s more about repeating sets to exhaust your muscles and utilizes heaver weights which I was looking to incorporate more of. I love having another option depending on what kind of workout I’m in the mood for that day plus I think it’s awesome to keep testing your limits and going out of your comfort zone to build new muscles and skill.

Both apps make it feel like you have a personal trainer cheering you on—but for a fraction of the cost.

They’re Perfect for Travel Too

One of my favorite things is that I can take these workouts anywhere.

When I’m traveling, I usually adjust based on the equipment I have (or don’t have). Sometimes it’s just bodyweight, sometimes I grab a pair of light dumbbells from the hotel gym, and sometimes I squeeze in a quick core workout before dinner.

Yes, vacations usually mean lots of walking (which I love), but having a workout app on my phone makes it so easy to move my body whenever I have 15–20 minutes. It helps me feel energized instead of feeling like I have to completely pause my routine until I get home.

My Favorite Workout Essentials

I’m rounding up everything I actually use and love, including:

  • My favorite walking pad that helps me sneak in extra steps while I’m answering emails or watching TV.

  • The heart cut-out sweatshirt that so many of you loved (and that we’re giving away this month!).

  • The matching workout set I’ve been living in lately.

  • Light dumbbells from The Sculpt Society- I love the shape of these.

  • Budget-friendly light weights from Amazon.

  • The workout mat I use all the time.

  • The magnetic phone mount that sticks to mirrors so I can easily follow workouts wherever I am—even in a hotel room.

Here is everything on amazon listed above. These are all things I’ve genuinely used for a long time and reach for over and over again.

To celebrate, we’re doing a fun August fitness giveaway for our paid subscribers only (we do these monthly-how fun?!?!)

One lucky subscriber will win:

  • The viral heart cut-out sweatshirt you all went crazy for PLUS my favorite matching workout set from Daughter Lessons (the one I’m wearing above).

Here’s what you have to do in order to enter!
