Whilst the lovely Alex Jones filled in on Monday’s episode, Jo was back with Zoe for this week’s episode of Dig It. They kicked things off by saying a huge thank you to all the Diggers who sent Jo such lovely messages of support while she’s been away.

Yes Day — Alex got creative for her son’s 10th birthday this year after he asked for his very own ‘Yes Day’, inspired by the movie! The idea is simple: for 24 hours, the kids make the rules and the parents have to say yes to every request. Michael gives us some advice on how to take semi-hardwood rose cuttings.
Choose the right time of year: the semi-ripe stage is the ideal moment for rose cuttings because stems are firm enough to avoid rotting but still soft enough to root successfully.
Avoid very soft green growth at the top of the plant, as this is less likely to succeed.
Take a cutting of around 4–6 inches long, cutting just above a bud at the top and below a bud at the bottom.
Use a 50/50 mix of compost and grit to help drainage and encourage rooting.
Remove the leaves from the cutting and cover it with a clear plastic bag to maintain humidity while it develops roots.

I was going through, trying to find some of his favourite songs. So Elbow, of course, One Day Like This… Dad loved singing so much. In another life, he’d had been on stage, he’d have been in a band…. We saw many strange coincidences when dad was entering the end of his life. Just bizarre things kept happening for about three days. Jude lives in southeast London and was playing - on full volume - Dido's album. Dad was obsessed with Dido, he named his cat Dido, and the fact that Jude was sitting in his room knowing that his Grandad was about to pass away and Dido’s ‘White Flag’ was blaring out into this South London estate was really spooky.”
