We were able to withstand the fierce drawdown in high-growth and momentum stocks last month given the diversification of our portfolio and our conviction in our theses. We were extremely early to many of the names that sold off, which meant our low cost bases gave us a significant cushion and helped us maintain composure through the volatility. It also helped that we had rotated a decent portion of the portfolio into software shortly before the drawdown began.

If you haven’t already, check out our latest research article on what we believe could become the next major gold producer. We think the stock has the potential to 2x over the intermediate term. We’ve joked that an insider at the company must have read our article because, shortly after we published it, it was disclosed that he had purchased $10 million worth of shares on the open market. It looks like he sees some of the same potential that we do.

On the topic of gold, our largest position remains Southern Cross Gold. The stock continues to make new all-time highs seemingly every other day. We publicize a lot of our wins in technology, so someone casually skimming our work might never realize that our single largest position is actually a gold explorer. That speaks to how diversified our portfolio really is. From being one of the earliest, if not the earliest, retail investors publicly beating the drum on Nebius back in November 2024 to having our largest position today in a gold explorer, we have consistently positioned ourselves in themes that have gone on to dominate the market, while also identifying the eventual leaders within them. That diversification has been especially valuable during periods like the one we just went through.

The remainder of this post will highlight the changes we’ve made across our trading and long-term portfolios since the July update, along with a comprehensive look at our current holdings and their respective weightings.
