Hello, everyone! Rise of the Flightless has officially launched on Kickstarter! This is the “penguins versus robots” anthology I’ve been talking about for some time that was inspired by the deranged tariffs imposed by the United States government on islands near Antarctica. The campaign runs until August 14 with a goal of $1,000. It’s already at $1,131, so let’s keep the momentum going!
Here’s the cover for this edition by artist Mike M.:
Luke W. Henderson put the whole thing together, and they did a phenomenal job. This campaign will help raise money for the Antarctic Science Foundation.
I wrote a four-page comic with art by Ryan “Dougal” Devine and letters by Luke W. Henderson, the editor of the anthology. I was partially inspired by the old cartoon Biker Mice from Mars, though I got the name for the gang from an NSFW Dropout video about penguins. That kind of synergy doesn’t happen every day! Here’s the first panel, introducing the characters and premise:

If the campaign gets to $1,500, you’ll unlock a special epilogue comic! There’s only a little more than two weeks left, so let’s do what we can to make it happen.
I can’t wait to see this book come to fruition. Please spread the word and contribute however you can. Support indie comics! Thanks again for everything.
