Sometimes talking about your brand rolls off the tongue. Other times…it kinda feels tongue-tied instead. What happens then?
Over the last four series, we’ve talked about everything a fast-paced, evolving business leader needs in their back pocket to brand smarter, through proven systems, from audience building, positioning, building a marketing plan, and everything in between.
What most people don’t talk about, is once all that great groundwork is done…
You have to go out and TALK about THE BRAND. Pitch it, so they say.
And what better to prove your brand’s strategy is solid, than a pitch that’s evidence-based?
What we mean by that. When a brand truly knows its audience, owns a clear (defensible) position, and has a defined brand platform, the pitch should be almost automatic. Nothing performative, and most definitely nothing that changes from room to room or person to person.
What a great pitch looks like? People from a company in different roles, different tenure, different personalities, can all describe what the brand does—the same way. Not necessarily word-for-word but very clearly in alignment on what the brand delivers of value…
And the secret is…everything you need for a great pitch…is already there, inside the business.
If pitching feels like pulling teeth, it’s time to untangle what’s already happening inside the facts of your brand’s everyday life in order to get to clarity that makes pitching feel easy, but strikes hard for the right audience.
In the articles ahead, we’re going to offer up some tools to build a pitch from the inside out.
We’re excited to get into it, hope you are too. Until then,
The Jayniacs.
