Venroy. Made famous by tweens and early twenties for their lounge skirt and adored by every living, breathing 20–30-something-year-old male heading to Noosa for the long weekend, Venroy as a brand has my attention. To be fair to Venroy I had dabbled in some linen here and there, but never really thought of them as anything beyond the go-to quintessential Summer resort wear brand. That was until last year when I stopped a lady on the street to ask where her trench was from. “It’s just Venroy,” I was stumped—assumed she was mistaken—but found myself browsing online anyway.

And so, the love affair was born.

Don’t get me wrong, I still ground Venroy heavily in the Summer season and I think they enjoy playing there. But previous drops, alongside their latest ‘Travel Essentials’ collection, are playing in a different territory (perhaps a more grown up one), it’s the kind of collection you buy knowing it will sit on top of your favourite jeans and be called upon weekly in your wardrobe lineup. Despite my love of fashion, I must say I fall into the lazy dresser category. For me, comfort and ease is key, I have spent too many seasons buying the ‘it’ item or the bold piece thinking it will elevate the look, only to return to the comfort of tees and knits paired with jeans and a coat or trench. If not broken why fix it! So when I walked into Venroy early last week there were some easy wardrobe building blocks that were no brainers for me to add to my Autumn/Winter wardrobe (listen the Style-ish episode with Elliot Garnaut on what these are - he explains it far better than I ever could)

I made a list at the start of Autumn of what I reallllllly needed this Autumn/Winter to avoid buying crap for the sake of it, my list included

  1. Black Coat - Hi Venroy!

  2. New Trench (a dog peed on my last one and it was never the same post dry cleaners - wish I was kidding)

  3. New Jeans

  4. Suede loafers

  5. Boat Shoes - got these, Sezane!

  6. Flat knee high boots

  7. Good quality white tank - complete, P.Johnson hurt the savings but going with ‘investment’ purchase theory and told they wear and wash very well

  8. Knitwear - Hi again Venroy!

Venroy ticked off a few from this list and it felt gate-keep’y not to share my favourites from their latest drop. To the Venroy creative team, not sure who’s worked on this sublime little pivot but welcome to Autumn/Winter - I’m so happy to have you here and of course to your marketing team who ensure the shirtless men are front of store for dog wash activations, I salute you.

My favourites listed below or can all be found here

Miu Miu who?! Obsessed with this, bought it before I’d even tried it on. Wore it the day I bought it and 2 days after that. A no brainer, easy, a bit fun, great for the casual office days or girl off duty… you get the gist I love it

Wool Coat (it’s a cashmere x wool blend)

Classic Cotton Trench Coat

Relaxed Denim Shirt or Shacket (that is my least favourite word in the whole world)

Dropshoulder Cashmere Cardigan (also comes in grey - see below, I opted for oatmeal but the grey is staring at me everytime I walk past my local)

Cardigan in the grey

Tapered Cotton Pleat Pant - aka this instead of jeans with a white tee or cardigan and a cute little boat shoe or loafer

Oversized cashmere knit, I had to have this - My bank account wishes I didn’t love cashmere but my winter resisting bones thank me for it each yearCasCa

Cashmere Tank, your go-to basic made betterB

Double Zip Knit - bought this immediately, know I’ll live in it all Autumn/Winter

I cheated my own list, these weren’t on there but I love the oversized knit over silk pants vibe (aka The Row vibe) so treated myself to 1 item NOT on the 2025 A/W list
