The Ministry of Defense has authorized the deployment of more than a hundred troops based in the Canary Islands to the autonomous city of Ceuta, in order to reinforce the means of the Army of the Land in light of the migratory crisis that the enclave has been experiencing since July 30.
"More than 150 soldiers from the Command of the Canary Islands are joining the capabilities of the Army of the Land already deployed in Ceuta," the Defense General Staff (EMAD) pointed out this Thursday through a message on the social network 'X', reported by Europa Press.
With this decision, the Executive, through the department headed by Minister Margarita Robles, has given the green light to the displacement of new units from the Command of the Canary Islands to Ceuta, with the purpose of integrating into the tasks already being carried out by the contingent present in the autonomous city.
"The Armed Forces continue to provide support to the State Security Forces and Corps at various points in the autonomous city," EMAD reports.
