Enrique de-Madaria · DeMadaria Versus Placebo

Over the last year I’ve been mulling over a new project, and I wanted to tell you about it and ask for your help in deciding whether it’s worth investing time and effort in. One of the major problems for many people seeking to advance in academia is the lack of an experienced mentor. This project would allow me to mentor many of you remotely, but I need to gauge the level of genuine interest in this initiative. Please help me by completing this survey.

I am exploring the possibility of launching a premium English-language educational membership for healthcare professionals who want to grow as clinical academics, researchers, educators, and leaders.

The membership would be designed for early-career physicians, pharmacists, nurses, psychologists, dietitians, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals interested in strengthening their academic profile while maintaining a clinical career.

The goal would be practical: to help members design better studies, publish better papers, obtain competitive funding, respond effectively to reviewers, build international collaborations, improve their academic CV, and progress in their clinical-academic careers.

The approximate format would be:

1. One weekly recorded lesson
A practical 30-minute class every week, focused on a specific topic in clinical research and academic development.

2. One monthly live session
A 1-hour live Q&A and interaction session every month, where members could ask questions, discuss real academic challenges, and interact with me and the group.

3. Permanent access to all materials
All recorded lessons, templates, checklists, examples, and resources would remain available to members.

4. Practical tools
Templates and frameworks for manuscripts, reviewer responses, grant applications, study protocols, academic CVs, cover letters, collaboration emails, and career planning.

5. A premium academic community
A space for motivated healthcare professionals who want to publish more, publish better, obtain funding, improve their research skills, and build a stronger academic career.

The content would likely include:

  • How to choose a good research question.

  • How to design clinically relevant studies.

  • Observational studies, clinical trials, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses.

  • How to write a strong manuscript.

  • How to choose the right journal.

  • How to respond to reviewers.

  • How to deal with rejection.

  • How to prepare a grant application.

  • How to build an academic CV.

  • How to increase international visibility.

  • How to create and lead collaborations.

  • How to move from participating in studies to leading them.

  • How to balance clinical work, research, teaching, and personal life.

  • How to develop a long-term academic strategy.

The expected price would be:

99 € per month
Approximately 112 US dollars per month, depending on exchange rates.

There could also be an annual plan, probably with a discount compared with paying month by month.

Before deciding whether to launch it, I would like to understand how many people would seriously consider joining.

Thank you very much for taking the time to vote.

At this stage, this is only an idea. I have not launched the program yet, and I will only move forward if there is enough genuine interest to justify creating something truly valuable, practical, and sustainable.

If the response is strong, I will start designing the first version of the program and will share more details soon, including the exact structure, calendar, topics, and founding member conditions.

Your vote will help me decide whether this project should become a reality.

Thank you for being part of this community.
