Fauci and the chimps

The Republicans staged a show trial at a hearing where they subpoenaed 85-year-old Dr. Fauci, forcing a great American hero to sit before an inane inquisition which was designed solely to persecute and prosecute the elder Solon.

Why?

Well, first of all, FOX desperately needed some red meat for its gullible viewers to fill a 24-hour news cycle. Something for Trump’s sake, on the news, other than his failed war, his spineless Congress, his lunatic cabinet, his grifting, his sinking economy or the Epstein File saga in which he’s accused of raping a girl.

It’s much better journalism to cover the zillionth investigation into a scientist by the same cabal of implausible yahoos, sling blades, Hee Haw extras, hill dwelling nattering nitwits and toothless sinister extremists.

Dr. Fauci has already testified before Congress 250 times.

This recent hearing reveals the MAGA Republicans’ genuine thirst for true insight, knowledge and the opportunity to engage in schoolyard namecalling. Senator Random Fishpole, the brightest light of the Bible Belt lightning bugs led the investigation, a comic spectacle which mirrored the scene of the primordial hooting chimps in 2001, perplexed by the modern, circling and howling at a silent monolith.

They published Fauci’s private diary beforehand. Hoping someone who could read would read it to them. Their earnest fascination with reading is a surprise coming from the Party that can’t dare to read or publish the files which accuse their President of raping and threatening a child.

Surely, Dr.Fauci’s innermost thoughts would reveal he was the monster worth pursuing into the woods with pitchforks and torches in hand. Far more so than any other beasts in the news.

If you think it is monstrous to call Trump irrational Fauci is your monster. If it is monstrous act to describe the Republican Congress as befuddling and gutless, he’s your monster. If you want to read the thoughts of a scientific mind struggling to comprehend the lunacy he was compelled to serve this is your summer beach read.

Was Homer’s Circe on the Committee? For the Party that does not believe in masks unless it’s for Trumps Gestapo, they all wore masks that made them appear human despite being low animals. Swamp snakes. Snorting hogs. Shrews and weasels.

They then screamed profanity at Dr. Fauci for not talking. For taking the 5th. I remember Trump talking. About bleach. Ivermectin. I also remember Team Trump refusing to appear before hearings or often taking the 5th.

No Republicans ever dared to scream profanity at their quack-in-chief.

Six years of investigation into Dr. Fauci and the final score was what?

Zero charges.

It doesn’t matter that there were no charges. MAGA Republicans know all that matters to the superficial follower of the news is the taint. This Party does not serve the nation. This Party serves their party. This was for arousing souls for the upcoming election and it failed.

Six years of investigation. At least six souls I knew personally were killed by COVID. I remember my activist friend who died from COVID. Such a virtuous patriot.

Dr. Fauci thank you for your courage, all of the insane shit you endured and continue to endure. Thank you for your love of science in the service of humanity.

“Science” and “humanity”. Two words you’ll never see in a sentence associated with Donald Trump.

Congratulations to the Anti-Science Party of Inhumanity. Kudos to you howling, shrieking chimps, who slapped your dais, jumped up and down and flung nothing but empty feculence at your scarecrow. And what was the result?

You came up with empty forepaws. All you got from this show trial was a show that closed early because it had no legs.

As my friend, the great American ex-pat cartoonist Pat Bagley said of this crew, “Malignant morons. Let them eat bleach.”

Dr.Fauci is a hero for the ages, to be honored and remembered long after the chimps are dust.

The simple primates should have avoiding drinking the bleach.
