An Announcement

My latest book of essays has appeared, or will have done in a few weeks time, from UNDP. The title—A Gathering of Leaves: Extravagances and Ephemera—might suggest that it is a collection of pieces from Leaves in the Wind, which in large part it is; but it also gathers articles that were published elsewhere, and all the materials taken from my Substack writings have been revised, reordered, rearranged, polished, burnished, buffed, primped, painted, purfled, and curled, to the point in many instances of constituting new works. In any event, I happen to think it my best essay collection to date and, mercenary soul that I am, I implore you buy several copies for all your near and dear, as well as for any amiable strangers you might encounter out on the boulevards.
