Research Spotlight from IMPACT Summit 2025, with Dominique Levin, Elay (Saleshood), and Elad (Winn.ai)
In this IMPACT Summit 2025 research spotlight, I sit down with longtime colleague and sharp futurist Dominique Levin to unpack the emerging category of AI GTM Coaching — AI agents that help SDRs, AEs, and CSMs prepare, perform, and improve across every customer interaction. We start with a simple question: What if every rep had a ride-along coach for every call? Dominique breaks coaching into three layers: foundational knowledge (product, use cases, stories), functional skills (questions, demos, meeting management), and deal/customer strategy (who’s in the room, what to send ahead, how to choreograph high-stakes interactions).
We then explore why AI coaching becomes most powerful deeper in the Bowtie, where at-bats are scarce and human execution still determines outcomes. While CEOs often assume the primary AI opportunity is automating top-of-funnel SDR work, Dominique argues the opposite: bottom-of-funnel prep, stakeholder management, and complex negotiations are where AI coaching shows immediate, measurable impact — often within the same quarter. We also draw a clear line between what AI can do (repetition, refinement, scenario practice) and what managers must still own (mindset, confidence, identity, career development).
Three vendor stories bring the research to life. Saleshood shows how Copado built a fully AI-driven two-week onboarding boot camp for BDRs, turning 30–60 days of manager-intensive ramp into asynchronous practice, scoring, and certification. Win.ai demonstrates how Deel used real-time AI guidance and CRM auto-capture to improve playbook adherence, cut admin time to zero, and lift win rates. Second Nature walks through Zoom’s early adoption of AI role-play to support a major product launch—and how that expanded into onboarding, CS, SE demos, and deal coaching.
Dominique closes by introducing AI coaching sprints, a way for CEOs to drive GTM behavior change quickly: pick one skill, build a scenario, push practice in weeks, and measure results. AI removes the inertia between strategy and field execution, allowing leaders to “speak” directly to the front lines with no loss of fidelity.

00:00 – Framing AI GTM coaching: the “ride-along” that never sleeps
We set up the conversation and define AI GTM coaching as before/during/after support for reps across roles.
00:47 – What do we actually mean by AI coaching?
Dominique outlines coaching across knowledge, skills, and deal/customer strategy, enabled at scale by AI where managers lack time.
01:59 – Before, during, after: the core coaching framework
AI provides prep, real-time nudges, and post-call review—covering all three phases consistently.
04:44 – Onboarding: role-play with AI coaches and “fake clients”
Reps practice with an AI coach and an AI “customer,” receiving structured critiques far more frequently than from human managers.
06:00 – Practice vs game time: why reps respond when the stakes rise
We discuss how reps suddenly want coaching before big meetings; AI supports both certification and game-day prep.
08:15 – Why bottom-of-funnel is the killer use case
Complex, late-stage scenarios are where AI coaching creates disproportionate value, not the SDR replacement narrative.
10:27 – In-quarter results: bigger deals, fewer discounts, better close rates
AI coaching deeper in the funnel produces measurable improvements within a single quarter.
12:23 – After the call: AI “tape review” when learning is highest
AI reviews the recording immediately and provides feedback at the moment reps are most receptive.
13:56 – During the call: subtle, real-time guidance without scripts
Done well, real-time AI is a light checklist and timing-based reminder, not a rigid script.
15:02 – What managers still own: hearts, minds, and careers
AI handles the tactical; managers focus on identity, motivation, and growth.
16:45 – Division of labor and the “assistant coach” model
AI becomes a suite of position coaches; managers need dashboards, exceptions, and triage views to guide focus.
19:00 – What CEOs should do now: a low-risk, high-reward AI use case
Dominique’s advice: start now, especially in complex human-required scenarios; it’s low-risk and high-ROI.
21:04 – Case Study #1: Saleshood & Copado’s two-week AI BDR boot camp
Copado ramps BDRs through 12 conversations via asynchronous AI-led practice, best practices, and iterative feedback.
23:31 – Time savings, consistency, and faster productivity
Managers save 10–12 hours per BDR; reps ramp in two weeks; leaderboards and scoring enforce accountability.
27:14 – Case Study #2: Win.ai & Deel’s real-time coaching at scale
Deel tackles poor methodology adherence and missing CRM data using real-time coaching for 1,000+ reps.
27:53 – Methodology adherence, CRM automation, and win-rate uplift
Playbook adherence improves 30%, admin work drops to zero, CRM completion rises from ~1% to 70%+, win rates lift 8%.
33:16 – The alignment triangle: enablement, RevOps, and sales leadership
Success requires alignment across the triangle; vendors often play the role of orchestrating that alignment.
35:01 – Getting started: don’t wait for perfect
Start with what you have, deploy AI coaching, measure, and iterate—speed beats perfection.
35:39 – Case Study #3: Second Nature & Zoom’s product-launch transformation
Zoom used AI role-play to shift ~2,000 AEs from one core product to selling Zoom Phone effectively.
37:59 – From product launches to org-wide behavior change
AI coaching expands into onboarding, CS, SE demos, and deal prep when tied to CEO-level strategic initiatives.
40:01 – AI coaching sprints: compressing GTM behavior change
Pick one behavior, build a scenario, and drive practice over weeks; small skills compound into big execution gains.
42:02 – CEO superpower: direct line to the field, no loss of fidelity
AI lets executives broadcast “what good looks like” directly into daily rep practice loops—with measurement included.
