President Trump Just Hates Black People

Trump and his movement are genuinely one of the most shamelessly anti-Black movements in recent American history. From its political operatives online spamming on TikTok that the most accomplished Black women in America did not earn their jobs, to the Secretary of Defense refusing promotions of Black people, to Trump’s harassment campaigns against black immigrants like Haitians and Somalians, and now the comments made at the UFC disgrace on the White House lawn.

The attack that Michelle Obama is a man—made by some idiot UFC fighter and laughed at by the President—is part of a long-running rightist insult denying Mrs. Obama her womanhood. It’s quite frustrating watching the mainstream media discuss it as though it’s about disrespect for Obama’s legacy or respect for the president and his wife.

Calling Michelle Obama a man is not and never was about Michelle Obama as a person, her actual appearance, political partisanship or her family’s legacy. It’s just an insult saying that Black women are ugly and look like men. That’s it. That was always the joke among certain conservatives. An insult laughed at from the current President of the United States on down. It’s nothing more complicated than that.

It was one thing to hear this insult hurled on AM Radio ten years ago, but to hear it on the White House lawn and clearly condoned by the President of the Untied States is quite another. The oligarchs who put on that disgraceful display on the White House lawn making it as clear as day what their true feelings are and it is important for the nation to hear them in explicit terms.

Unfortunately, we do not have a functional media environment. Trump is the Troll President and the U.S. media believes that by “not taking the bait” you defeat trolls. But the appropriate response was for news outlets to stop it with the both-sides stuff and start editorially calling balls and strikes in plain language: the President clearly doesn’t like Black people.

Trump really hates congresswoman Ilhan Omar, and being a black woman of immigrant ancestry instead of slave ancestry has allowed him to use words and phrases up to the magnitude of nigger without having to say it. Trump calling her nation of origin a shithole country and that its people are low I.Q. is pretty bad, but because Somalians are immigrants it’s treated as xenophobia rather than the anti-Black racism we all know well.

Trump ignored the Juneteenth federal holiday last weekend, but Trump routinely celebrates Saint Patrick’s Day, which is not a federal holiday but a tribute to Irish-American lineage. So it’s not about identity politics but a deliberate insult. Nor should anyone indulge the argument MAGA operatives push with the most minimal sincerity that Juneteenth “isn’t real” because it somehow competes with Independence Day—as if Emancipation and Independence are not both equally monumental chapters in American history, as demonstrated by both Abraham Lincoln and George Washington being held in parallel reverence.

Ignoring Juneteenth is just about insulting Black people. Trump doesn’t like Black people so he ignores the American legacy of Emancipation, just as he ignores civil rights by putting out the most lazy press release at the very near end of the day marking Martin Luther King Day (and then outright dismantling civil rights by appointing anti-Voting Rights Act justices.) He removed both holidays as National Park free-entry holidays. It’s just a litany of snubs, from the removal of Black American heroes from the White House, to a bizarre refugee program that only accepts white South Africans.

Like his father before him, Trump views Black people as ghetto and unworthy, which is ironic since Trump’s the most ghetto president in American history. From pimping out the White House with tacky gold plates and dollar store decorations, to hosting a bunch of hoodlums at the White House to fist fight at the bottom of the Lincoln memorial while he wears chains around his neck. He’s an illiterate who can hardly speak English let alone any other language. He appoints drunks, drug addicts and gamblers to run the government. Trump finances his once declining wealth off of government subsidy and insider trading—or welfare and crime as it would be called for poor people.

No matter how evil Trump’s rhetoric is, the Obamas must be well-behaved. Even in 2026, Mr. Obama must always give a sermon like speech and cannot ever show impulse and frustration like Trump does regularly. Michelle Obama and her two daughters have to sit in silence with poker faces and not show any emotion while Trump and his UFC pals go running off the wall shouting slurs without consequence.

No Black person anywhere in America can behave like a fraction of what Trump and his allies do and have a political or professional career. It’s really painful being Black in this country because the amount of shit you have to eat is incredible. If you’re accomplished, you got it over Affirmative Action. If you’re a failure, it’s because your culture caused it.

And now we’re going to sit back and get condescending think pieces in the media detailing the history of attacks against Mrs. Obama and pretending they’re being truth-tellers by debunking the conspiracy theories as if the real truth hasn’t been plain for 400 years and counting.

The president just doesn’t like Black people.
