Yoo Soo Kim and I discuss the great music he created for the Scotty series and Counting
In the last few weeks I’ve been posting about the making of my four short films in the mid-2010s. As you no doubt know, music has always been a big part of my life and that certainly is true whenever I work on a new film project. The first of these films, Scotty Works OUT, was made in 2013 and I licensed music by independent artists AM and Shawn Lee to give it the bounce and energy needed to tell that story. When I decided to follow that up with Scotty & Josh Get Enlightened, I had the great pleasure of working with young Yoo Soo Kim. His music was so effective that I had him score my subsequent films, Another Party with Scotty and Counting.
Yoo Soo and I go in depth about the development of these scores. We also discuss some of the additional projects we’ve individually worked on in the past decade.
