Is It Turnabout Violence Or Random?

Conspiracy theories can begin with a simple suggestion. That being said, the allusion that will be propounded in the following few paragraphs is nothing more than a thought, based upon years of observation.

First, with the shooting death of MAGA’s young poster boy, Charlie Kirk, the folks on the far right, and within the hard-core MAGA circles, are likely to be calling for the imprisonment of all so-called ‘lefties’, or ‘radical left’ as is found ad nauseam across the social spheres of the interwebs. Some of them are quite famous.

Scroll through actor James Woods’ feed on X, and you will see it dripping with calls for civil war, and that all gun violence is really ‘Democrat violence’. He warps a post from Former President Barack Obama into a sinister statement, suggesting they have Charlie Kirk’s blood on their hands.

How?

At this juncture, nobody has been caught, and as the New York Times aptly states, ‘wild speculation abounds’.

Nobody knows who pulled the trigger or what motivated them. A ‘person of interest’, who had been taken into custody shortly after the shooting Wednesday, was later released. So far as we know, their party affiliation has not been revealed.

The hatred from today’s so-called conservatives, particularly the MAGA base, is no surprise. We have been listening to it since His Imperiousness descended the escalator in 2015, from stumps about ‘rapists and killers’ to ‘suckers and losers’, the language has been designed to identify the right boogeyman, class all those who oppose your effort to vanquish the boogeyman as other demons that must be cast aside, and use surgical violence to both intimidate, terrorize and sanitize.

The intimidation and terrorizing speak easily for themselves, from the first violent fisticuffs at Trump rallies to the storming of The Capitol by an insurgent mob roused to their fever by none other than the losing presidential candidate, himself.

As the rhetoric has been dialed to ever-hotter temperatures, random elements within the population have become emboldened, setting fires to the homes of Democrat governors or hatching plots to kidnap and assassinate them. The outcry from the president has always been *ahem* muted, to employ a highly-diplomatic term.

Combined, the years-long onslaught of increasing political violence has indoctrinated Americans in a way that could become acclimation, if it continues escalating apace. I would not hazard to state we had reached that boundary already.

His Imperiousness has been tempting to violence those citizens living in so-called Democratic states and so-called ‘sanctuary cities’ - a gaslighting phrase if ever there was one - by deliberately escalating the rhetoric, and by sending in National Guard troops or completely taking over local police, as was done in Washington, D.C.

The social media meme that many people, including myself, interpreted as a declaration of war on Chicago, would have been, in any other time in American history, the effective end of a presidential administration. Today it garnered about 24 hours of frenetic upset.

How likely is it, then, that His Imperiousness may attempt to heed the calls of the more famous MAGA mob, using it as an excuse to declare some kind of national emergency? What if the Kirk killing was instigated by the administration, itself? This is, after all, an administration that has had no qualms with openly killing people at sea, as we know happened recently with a refugee boat that was supposedly smuggling narcotics, a boat load of which was buried somehow, somewhere beneath the bodies of those crammed tightly into its diminutive shell.

The Epstein scandal has leeched the president’s youth support, among other groups within the MAGA base, in a way he would easily find politically threatening. Since summer, when House Speaker Mike Johnson closed up Congress for several weeks, and there has already been one distraction or another thrown to the wall to prevent people discussing Epstein. Changing subjects is a requisite play of this administration and its enablers.

I am only ‘thinking aloud’ here, but the musing is hardly amusing. It is terrifying, and I do not believe it is beyond the pale of this particular administration, from the likes of Kristi Noem to Pam Bondi to that wretched Stephen Miller, to execute on a plan to execute a high-profile right-wing figure, publicly and dramatically, in an effort to divert the narrative of the news cycle, and to ‘rally the troops’, to invoke a tired cliché.

So far as I know, there is no evidence, direct or otherwise, to suggest such a false-flag operation has actually happened. It would not be surprising to me, however.

Nonetheless, that Charlie Kirk was killed by gun violence should certainly be no surprise to anyone living in the U.S. today, least of all His Imperiousness or any of the minions playing their starring role in this dystopian presentation of ‘Sycophantasia’. They have been sprinkling a dark magic of their own for years, turning the body politic into a tragic voodoo doll.

Charlie Kirk is credited with organizing a youth coalition to support His Imperiousness in the 2024 election, bringing on board young people in numbers that gave Kirk, himself, close access and association with the president. But the youth he brought were motivated by divisive rhetoric masquerading as ‘free speech’ - another term that has become a gaslighter in this sad era.

Kirk once stated it was okay to tolerate shooting deaths to protect the ‘God-given right’ to carry a gun, as though a real God of love would want everyone to be well armed, just in case the wrong love presents itself.

He was a clear homophobe and a racist, once calling the Civil Rights Act ‘destructive’, denying climate change as ‘complete gibberish’, and invoking Leviticus from The Bible, suggesting people who are LGBTQ should be put to death under ‘God’s perfect law when it comes to sexual matters’. As with so many contradictions of the duplicitous ideology of the new, so-called ‘modern’ Republican Party, free speech means whatever conservatives want to say, regardless of how despicable, and freedom of religion means everyone should be a Christian.

As an atheist, I dissent.

As a man who is gay, who spent his youth cowering in the closet in fear of his own identity because of schoolyard games like ‘smear the queer’ and the hatred and open homophobia of the 1980’s due to the AIDS epidemic, I have to wonder how may of those young people Charlie wanted to reach were gay or trying to figure out who they are? In this new era of ‘righteous people’ being victims of ‘those others’ and ‘them,’ and of anyone who is not ‘like them’, how many young people struggling with being honest with themselves about their identity and values are afraid to be themselves because of people like His Imperiousness or Charlie Kirk, and the hateful rhetoric they make so official.

I do not shed one bitter tear for Chucky, his family, his friends, his supporters or anyone who holds him dear to their heart. What have they been holding, exactly?

As far as I am concerned, a hate-filled and divisive voice that has openly called for those who are LGBTQ to be stoned to death, and who has borne false witness to spread a divisive message for profit and influence, has been rendered silent.
