Danny Miranda · The Magical Door

Three days ago, I was walking around the Lady Bird Lake trail in Austin.

A random tall guy stopped me and asked a simple random question: “Are you wearing wired headphones because you don’t want the bluetooth in your ears?” Yup, I told him. He told me how he preferred the same. It was a short interaction.

And I didn’t think I would ever see him again.

---

Fast forward to yesterday.

My friend Leo texts me out of the blue. “I’m going to Casa de Luz. Are you around this afternoon?” I told him I’d see if I could swing by around 5. When it came time, I got in my car and texted him that I was 15 minutes away.

As I’m driving, he calls me and says, “I’m literally just about to leave.”

That’s odd. He’s leaving just as I’m about to get there.

My first thought was: I’m supposed to go to Casa de Luz right now. And apparently I’m not supposed to meet up with Leo. But something is going to happen to me here tonight.

I park my car and see my friend’s Instagram story: she’s hosting a meditation event here.

“Oh! That’s why I’m supposed to go to Casa de Luz tonight. Makes sense.”

So it was a couple of hours until the meditation. I brought my book Guided by Laura Lynne Jackson with me.

I’ve been on a big Laura Lynne Jackson kick recently. She’s a psychic medium. I feel deeply connected to her. And all of her writing has made me question... should I learn how to do this? I even bought Develop Your Psychic Abilities (a book she mentioned in The Light Between Us) a week ago because I was so curious about how she does her readings. She claims anyone can learn, and I’m fascinated by it.

Anyway, I sit down outside Casa de Luz with my book. And I start getting attacked by bugs. “That’s strange,” I thought. I’ve sat here many times and never gotten attacked by bugs.

“I guess I’m not supposed to sit here.”

So I went to the upstairs area (closer to where my friend was hosting her meditation) and peaked into a cafe that I haven’t been in since it opened about a year ago.

And I stepped into the magical door.

And I sit down in the corner of the room and read my book. Loving it. Getting lost in it.

I get up to grab a tea and see a bunch of books at the front of the room. One is by Frederick Dodson called Intuition Training. I find that interesting because I’ve been listening to lots his meditations and podcasts recently. He’s not that well known. Another is by Sonia Choquette. They’re all about training your intuition.

I think to myself, “I’m definitely in the right place.”

But I don’t ask about the books or why they’re there. I really just want to enjoy my own book in the corner of the room.

I’m reading for about 30 minutes, and people start filling up the room. One guy sits across from on the couch.

And as this happen, I naturally go into meditation. I feel the energy rising in the room. I feel the energy rising in me. I feel something is going to happen.

More and more people show up. There must 50 people in the room, but my chair is in the corner in an alcove so I can’t really see everything that’s going on.

Another guy comes over to where the initial guy was sitting on the couch and says, “I usually sit on the other side of the room. I’m going to change it up this week and sit here instead.”

Then he looks at the guy on the couch (sitting directly in front of me) and asks, “Is this seat taken?”

The guy on the couch says “No.”

And then they introduce themselves. He said, “Hi, I’m Milo.” The guy sitting across from him said, “Hi, I’m Henry.”

Wait, a second... this guy sitting across from me is named Henry?

Well, it just so happens in Guided from pages 262 to 269... is all about a dog named Henri. This happens to be the chapter I’m currently reading. I’ve been reading about Henry for the past few minutes with Henry sitting across from me.

What are the odds of that?!

Anyway, before I could share this wild synchronicity...

Milo turns to me.

And he says, “What’s your name? Hey, wait a second, I feel like I know you. Where do I know you from?”

My first instinct was maybe he saw the podcast? Maybe a clip on social media?

And without missing a beat he said... “Were you wearing headphones on the trail a couple of days ago?!”

Yes, Milo. Nice to meet you again. I was wearing headphones on the trail a couple of days ago.

Here I was, in this place I didn’t expect to be, sitting in this chair I didn’t expect to be in, meeting this person who “randomly” chose to sit on a different side of the room... just so happened to stop a stranger two days prior. Hmm. That’s interesting.

So I asked my new friend Milo, “Hey, there’s a lot people here. What’s this about? Why is everyone here?”

“Well,” he tells me, “This is something called Mindful Mondays. This guy Chris Harders has been putting them on for the last 38 weeks and it’s a way to get a spiritual community together. Last week, we chanted ‘OM’ for like 15 minutes.”

I said, “That’s super cool. This is right up my alley. I’d love to chant ‘OM’ for 15 minutes.”

He said, “Well, I don’t know if we’re going to do that. It’s a different theme every week.”

What’s the theme this week?

“How to develop your psychic abilities.”

I threw my book down in disbelief. Awe. Shock. Gratitude. I mean...

All of the synchronicities coming together in perfect unison. Henry. The headphone guy. Reading Guided (while feeling guided). Fred Dodson. How to train your intuition.

You can’t make this stuff up.

We spent the next 90 minutes meditating (a great one led by Chris), learning about how to do a psychic reading, doing one, receiving one, and cleaning our energy field.

Overall, I was just left in awe.

And that’s because I stepped into The Magical Door.

The Magical Door shows up when you tune into the Source. The Magical Door shows up when we are open to love and possibility and connection. The Magical Door is there for us when we get really quiet, and listen to that still small voice inside.

The Magical Door shows us the truth. If your heart is beating, you’re here for a reason. You’re part of the grand symphony. The closer you get to the Source (via raising your energy), the more magic you seem to experience. You start to see that every moment is happening perfectly, exactly as it is supposed to, with absolutely zero errors.

That’s been my experience at least.

Wishing you peace and love,

Danny
