One of my favorite parts of travel isn’t necessarily the destination.
It’s the people.
The conversations over breakfast. The laughter on the bus. The unexpected friendships that form when a group of curious travelers decides to explore somewhere new together.
That’s exactly why I’m excited about our upcoming Wine Not Weekend in Michigan, happening September 4–6.
This isn’t a whirlwind trip where you’re rushing from one stop to the next. It’s a carefully curated weekend filled with good food, local flavors, beautiful scenery, and plenty of opportunities to simply enjoy the experience.
We’ll spend two nights in Grand Rapids, Michigan, using it as our home base while we explore some of the region’s most interesting food and beverage experiences.
We’ll start with brunch and treats before diving into a unique Cocktail & Cannoli Experience at North Shore Distillery. We’ll wander through the incredible Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, one of my favorite attractions in the Midwest, and then head to the Paw Paw Wine Festival where we’ll enjoy wine tastings, live entertainment, and yes—grape stomping.
Because if you’re going to do a wine weekend, you might as well fully commit.
We’ll also visit Grasshopper Farms, enjoy lunch and a craft beer at the wonderfully quirky Beer Church Brewing Company, and savor five included meals along the way.
One of the things I hear most often from travelers is that they love the idea of getting away but don’t want to deal with all the logistics.
Good news.
We’ve already done that part.
Transportation is included. Hotel is included. Admissions are included. Most of the meals are included.
You simply show up, relax, and enjoy the journey.
And because I personally scout the destinations and experiences I offer, this isn’t a trip built from a brochure.
I’ve spent the past year visiting destinations, meeting tourism partners, tasting the food, exploring the attractions, and making sure these are experiences I’d happily recommend to my own family and friends.
If you’ve traveled with me before, you know my philosophy:
Travel should be fun.
It should be educational.
It should leave room for laughter, curiosity, and a little spontaneity.
Most of all, it should create stories worth telling.
That’s exactly what this weekend is designed to do.
Whether you’re a wine enthusiast, a foodie, a solo traveler looking for new friends, or simply someone who needs a break from everyday life, I’d love to have you join us.
