Throughout my career so far I’ve been lucky to work with many different types of data. It’s exciting how all different kinds of data can be represented and interpreted by different programming languages1. So today I’m going to do another one of these and dive into analyzing data from satellite images. Learning to parse data from freely available satellite imagery is both a useful skill to have and quite fun, so today I’ll share a little project that I have whipped together. There are more ambitious projects we can use these analyses for, but let’s start simple.
