This interactive chart, which shows popularity of college majors over the past 50 years, is worth a click. Business has held its place at the top for half a century. The big decliners: Humanities (of course). The big gainers: Health professions, computer science (for now), and “parks, recreation, fitness, and kinesiology.” The real question: Are students chasing opportunity — or following momentum?
Here’s a prediction: The next frontier in audio won’t be more podcasts. It’ll be theater without a stage. Audible is taking a lead on this front with an array of classic and contemporary plays. My favorite recent listen is Adam Rapp’s The Sound Inside, starring Mary-Louise Parker.
