Between the Lines - Ep 01

Well, hello there!

Welcome to the first episode of Between the Lines.

Where I tell you all about what’s happened this month with my creative projects. I don’t mean “My Monthly Mix” which is later this month. I want to delve deep into my recent Substack articles, blogging work; articles of non-fiction, crossed with my fiction writing, stage play and television series.

I am going to focus on one main topic a month and also what I have been creating that month. This could be just me explaining my thought process or project progress. I won’t be posting EVERY month, just when I have updates.

This month (the March just gone) I have been busy behind the scenes creating a new world for my TV (fiction) series. I have created written various locations and a basic plot, as well as creating the series 1-2 main 6 characters.

It was an interesting process as I had to get into the minds of my characters and google search similar locations for inspiration. I still don’t know if I am going to use real locations or fictional, as it is a topical series that hits hard with storylines. My next move, over the coming months is to flesh out the 6 main characters and potentially write out a pilot episode.

• I haven’t written any more of my sci fi novel, and have decided to put it on hold until at least early 2027.

• I have shelved, until at least 2027, my ongoing project “Grinstead Tales”, which is my crime and detective novel series.

• I also have a musical theatre piece which I have delayed writing for a while, due to other commitments.

This month has seen a shift in my work. I’ve had new inspiration for my blog, W Books & Thoughts. I semi archived it years ago and only sporadically add new posts, every now and then. But now I feel up to posting more, when I can think of new content.

For the last few years I have considering a podcast by myself. I have many topics I’d love to talk about but it’s getting over my stage fright and starting recording. I have a title already. I have 12 planned episode topics but I am still scared to record and hit publish.
