Good morning!

It’s Thursday. And what happens to all those seeds when they reach those new and exciting destinations? With any luck they find a good spot, manage to germinate, put down roots, shoot up leaves, and start life anew—whether we intended them to or not.

For years, I’ve tried to get a robust patch of sunflowers growing in the lower garden, with little success. Someone else always spots those first few juicy leaves and, with a crunch and smack, says, “Mmm, thank you!”

I gave up trying this year. Mother Nature responded by plunking a totally unplanned specimen in the middle of the zucchini patch.

This stray seed dropped from a passing beak or buried by tiny paws has proved to be the healthiest, happiest, most robust sunflower ever to grace our garden.

So there you go.

“We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.”

—Joseph Campbell

Onwards,

Clara
