Sometimes you feel that you are at a point where you have no more hope.
It is for those times that I write this newsletter, to let you know that there is always hope.
Every sunset that occurs can bring darkness with it.
Yet, every sunrise renews a feeling of hope with light.
Well, it is mid-day and I’m not feeling very hopeful due to several circumstances (not something you’d expect to hear from me).
That loss of a strong sense of hope is what caused me to start writing the Daily Dose of Hope in the first place.
Through writing to you, members of our growing hopeful community, over these past 432 days, I have been able to maintain and increase my own levels of hope.
We need one another as a community to know that there are positive, hopeful things happening in science, medicine, nature, loss and grief, resilience, creativity and art, faith and meaning, change and new beginnings, strangers and community, everyday moments, and, most importantly, relationships, throughout the world.
Today is one of those days for me.
Today there is no question for you or song to which you might listen—it is only a simple reflection that if you face issues head on which have created despair in you, you will be able to find and restore your own sense of hope.
Tomorrow, the Daily Dose of Hope will return to look at the many areas where we can find hope together.
And if today’s dose was useful, share it with someone who could use some hope.
Most people wait for life to feel lighter before they feel hopeful again.
This was built for the days when it doesn’t.
