Major League Baseball begins tonight with a New York Yankees game live on Netflix.
Since you all follow Dahday's Ticket Insider to read about tickets and live events, I will spare you my full team-by-team breakdown of starting rotations I like or which MLB farm system could help the big club win a wild card spot. You can read full-time baseball writers for really good previews on that.
Instead, let me provide you with some ideas on ticket prices and other things to keep in mind this season. I do have a bias living near I-95 in New Jersey, so bear with me.
MLB games can cost $20 or less, despite the high prices out there
A lot is said about how high ticket prices are. Indeed, MLB teams have enough demand and seek to push their margins to the edge for each game, so prices can seem very high. But the secondary market presents a chance to check out a game for $20 or less. True, you cannot see a Yankees vs. Red Sox game on a Saturday afternoon for that price, but when I was a new college graduate (some time ago), I sat in the 300 level at The Vet for $10 a seat and I was ok with that.
If a low-cost, but good time is the goal, it is possible.

This May, you can literally see all four games against the defending American League champions - and a division rival - for under $20 per seat, per game - including Cap Night on Thursday night, May 21. Not bad.
The Philadelphia Phillies do not have any games with tickets that cost $20 or less, but here are the four games at Citizens Bank Park that cost $25 or less, all of which take place in April:

Both the Cubs and Giants are MLB playoff contenders.
Other than Opening Day for each club, the Mets, Yankees and Phillies all play each other this season. Those matchups have some of the highest ticket prices this season.
Teams and players to watch this season from a baseball geekThe beginning and ending of such a list needs to include Shohei Ohtani, who is the greatest baseball player this game has ever seen. Ohtani-san and the Los Angeles Dodgers stand as the main attraction.
Other interesting teams and ballplayers to see:
Pittsburgh Pirates: This team has been horrible for decades, but seeing a Paul Skenes start or a game when Konnor Griffin is called up later this season could be a good idea.
Toronto Blue Jays: Canada’s team is hungry to get back to the World Series with Vladimir Guerrero, Jr., Dylan Cease, George Springer and the rest.
Seattle Mariners: Seattle always has the pitching but if Julio Rodriguez and the rest can hit a little more, they could be the team to beat in October.
Atlanta Braves: Spencer Strider is hurt, but Ronald Acuna, Jr. is back from a World Baseball Classic Venezuela gold medal. Maybe Atlanta returns to being a playoff-caliber National League team.
Jay-Z sold out another Bronx show and is rocking Fairmount Park this May.Speaking of going to Yankee Stadium, Jay-Z has added a third show for Sunday, July 12 - and it sold out just like the July 10 and July 11 shows did.
