How To Channel Spirits Through The Tarot

A common so-called “misconception” about tarot is that when someone is reading tarot, they are not just interfacing with their intuition, they are opening a portal up for spirits to enter through. While this is not the case for most tarot readings, the vast majority of tarot is done solely through the power of the intuition and the cards themselves, when we call this a “misconception” we deny the reality that tarot can be used as a tool to commune with spirits. It is very much possible, and very powerful, to have spirits guide your tarot reading, channeling information from them to you through the cards, it just is not the only way tarot can function.

In traditional Nordic Pagan culture, it was customary to pray to the Gods before doing runic divination. This is not an exclusively Nordic practice though, many cultures and traditions did consecrate their divination tools to the Gods, using those tools as a conduit to draw down their divine wisdom. While this is not the only way divination works, it is one that is ancient, and it was the way many traditional shamans, diviners, and oracles operated. We can still do this today, it just takes a few additional steps.
