Using TypeScript in your Cypress specs rocks, and using fast TypeScript is even better. The team at Microsoft is switching TS compiler from JS to Go language, making it 10x faster. The last official JS version is TypeScript v6 which just came out, and now Cypress supports it!

Cypress is constantly announcing new features for its AI offering, and recently I took another look at cy.prompt and Cypress Studio AI recording. Ughh, rough. Not only using cy.prompt and/or Studio is slower than “normal” coding, it creates tests that I need to spend more time fixing up. Read my blog post “Cypress cy.prompt Vs Recording Vs Coding“ for details. Disclaimer: I did not evaluate cypress-io/ai-toolkit yet.
At least using “offline” AI agents to generate specs proceeds in parallel with my work; having “interactive” prompt AI is neither fast, no accurate.

Jyotirekha Mishra has posted an unbelievably thorough Cypress Quiz (with answers), it is a 35 page PDF with a 100 Cypress questions and short answers. A great study resource, especially if you want to show a proficiency on my Cypress skills ladder. The title page says the doc was prepared by Rahul Dange.

A lot of my short videos use live tests from cypress-examples, which is my “kitchen sink” of Cypress recipes on steroids. Currently there are close to 900 individual examples showing how to use Cypress commands in real-world situations. If you cannot find a solution to your Cypress testing problem, let me know, and I will try solving it and extending my collection.
