According to the latest data from International Data Corporation (IDC), the China hybrid cloud market grew 22.7% year over year in the second half of 2025, reaching RMB 101.47 billion, while the full-year market size reached RMB 145.17 billion. In 2H 2025, competition in the hybrid cloud market shifted decisively from the development and operation of general-purpose computing infrastructure capabilities on cloud platforms toward upgrades to intelligent computing infrastructure. Support for AI applications such as AI agents, combined with intelligent operations and management, has become a core area of competition in the hybrid cloud market.
Zhang Li, Senior Research Manager at IDC China, said that in 2025, as the localization of cloud platforms continued to deepen and AI applications such as AI agents were deployed at scale, the China hybrid cloud market followed an overall trend characterized by “localized cloud platform development and expansion as the foundation, and sustained high-growth demand for AI applications as the driving force.” In 2H 2025, the China hybrid cloud market exhibited five major characteristics: significant changes in the proportion of computing resources, growing demand for heterogeneous computing resource management, equal emphasis on localized computing resources and AI security, a surge in demand for AI applications such as AI agents, and continued development of edge inference.
