The Only Good Kind of Aneurysm

Well, we did it.

We made it through another calendar year, didn’t we? Congratulations to you if you would like them. Condolences if you would take comfort in them. We hope you feel as healed or at peace as you possibly can this winter, despite all the external chaos and vigorous chatter.

We believe in you.

We played another intimate show with our full band + photographer in tow on December 20th. Despite a sparse pre-holiday crowd and an overarching sense of societal doom (no fault of anybody’s in the room) we played a memorable set with our beloved friends and trusted collaborators, Amy Vinnedge (bass), Tye Springall (drums) and Liam Decker (cameras) by our sides.

We’re so grateful to Human Missile Crisis for organizing the show and playing a killer set of their own to close out the night (Designosaur and Hushmetal both brought their best to the night as well, keeping us fully and sincerely entertained). Thanks to good buds doing fine work for the betterment of society, we all left the room with a sense of hope and connection that only a local punk rock show can conjure up.

Our wonderful visual collaborator, Liam, spontaneously captured vide of the only cover song in our set: Nirvana’s “Aneurysm.” Though we didn’t plan for it to be the video we released after this show, the song somehow perfectly encapsulates the joy and solid foundation upon which we find ourselves work/playing with our (relatively new) bandmates and good friends. It also documents how simultaneously borderline-unhinged and perfectly in sync Ryan and I both are while we’re onstage.

With a proper audio tracking by Julian from Zeerox Records that we mixed ourselves, you can actually, properly hear us in this video, in all of our grungy glory.
