Hello friends and friends of friends!
It’s been a while so let’s dive headfirst into a whirlwind of activity this month! We've been very lucky to be brewing up some collaborations with fantastic local and international musicians and artists.
For those who are like, TLDR, here’s what we have to offer in a nutshell 🤓:
🧡 23/11 (Sat): Bad Time Disco Terrace Party
🖤 8/12 (Sun): BEAU Architects Exhibition closes
❤️🔥 14/12 (Sat): Doyenne Books x Current Plans: A Multi-Sensorial Experience
💚 28/12 (Sat): Live Coding Performance by Sonic Officer
💙 Dec-Jan: Mystery Artist-in-Residence
Join us this Saturday as Bad Times Disco takes the party outdoors to the terrace for an iconic Vinyl DJ party. The lineup includes DJs Maï-Linh (FR), Heels and Souls (LDN), DNK (JP), and Ani Phoebe (HK). Anticipate great music, good vibes, and delicious food from Sapphire Ketchup and Spark Noodle Bar! As a friend of Current Plans, you can access this event at a special discounted rate of 250HKD (pre-sale tickets are now sold out). Simply make a note when booking your tickets (☞゚ヮ゚)☞ here! ꩜
The BEAU exhibition (2014-2024) has been prolonged for an additional week. Don't miss your chance to visit before the 8th of December! Established in Hong Kong in 2014 by Charlotte Lafont-Hugo and Gilles Vanderstocken, BEAU Architects have played a subtle yet significant role in shaping Hong Kong's art scene by designing spaces for Tai Kwun Contemporary, PHD Gallery, Kiang Malingue, and even Current Plans. Additionally, their limited edition monograph showcasing their work over the past decade is available for purchase at $300HKD during your visit.
In December, our space will be turned into an experimental studio for musicians and our artist-in-residence, who we will announce in our next newsletter. We are super excited to collaborate with multi-talented musician/writer Flora Yin Wong of Doyenne Books (LDN) on December 14 (Sat), to create a night of witchy multi-sensorial experiences.
Inspired by Flora’s idea behind her publishing house & label Doyenne in channelling the 'divine feminine' and desire to create a universal 'sangha' for holistic connections, we will be presenting Seoul-based sound artist Joyul for her HK debut, alongside the Hong Kong-based composer & media artist @nnscya, an immersive projection by Taurin Barrera and showcase of international art films 🎥 touching upon ideas of ecofeminism, birth and rebirth, folk magic in the age of AI and many more. To make the night even more magical, we will have Chinese divination readings from Bazhi practitioner Zoiee Yung ☯️ and scent exploration from olfactory sorceress Aki Poon of Meraki Perfume. ₊˙♡﹗˚ ༘

As some of you may know, we are big fans of Livecoding performances. Still relatively new in Hong Kong, we are so excited to present a performance and workshop organised by the newly-formed collective Sonic Officer on December 28. Merging live performance, visual art and computer coding, this event will bring the focus and aesthetic of human-computer interaction.

We hope you feel as excited as we are about December, and hope to see you here with us!
Always currently planning,
Eunice
