And there goes another month! While it went by fast, we were able to get a lot done. Read below to see what we’re up to in August and how you can help!
Each week our connections grow stronger with the people in our community. While we always provide water and food, we would like to have the ability to hand out clothing and hygiene supplies on a regular basis. If you would like to help us out, donate to our Givebutter or check out our wishlist!
We have also made a guide to help you get started with a Water Drop in your neighborhood. Folks everywhere are in need of water and other supplies as we hit the peak of summer. We want others to build a system that works for them to help them reach out in their own backyard. Our guide shares the basics of how to get started on your own. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns about how to get started!
Carl and Julian
Over the past several months we have been trying to raise enough money to fully cover the medical expenses of Julian’s surgery. We have about $850 left to raise. Carl has been able to get some gigs here and there but nothing stable enough to cover the remaining balance. We need one final push to get Carl and Julian the money they need. We would appreciate any amount you can give or even if you are able to share out request.
Back 2 School Drive
We are partnering with Beyond Trenches to host a school supply drive for a community in Atlanta. We are looking to gather a variety of supplies for elementary, middle, and high school kids. Our IG post (linked below) has the full details including our wishlist and the locations where you can drop the supplies off. We plan to distribute the supplies on August 10th. Please contact us via email with any questions.

Study, Fast, Train, Fight: Black August
This month is Black August, a celebration honoring the lives and deaths of Freedom Fighters and Black Political Prisoners within the Black Liberation Movement. This month we encourage you to reflect on the history of Black Freedom Fighters and Poliltical Prisoners while inviting you to interrogate the unconscious and internalized anti-Blackness that we all hold.
We want to highlight organizations such as BAP-Atlanta, ARC-Southeast, Yes Please Books as they are hosting events and conversations that celebrate and honor Black August.
In continued celebration of Black August, we want to feature the reading group hosted by Yes Please Books. Their reading group will take place every Thursday at 7pm. You can purchase copies of these books at Yes Please Books!
