Anorak is a Caucasian Shepherd with a whole lot of fluff and an equally lovable personality. ❤️ While Anorak has been a sweet guy with us, we ask anyone interested in adopting to please research and understand the needs and characteristics of this breed before considering bringing one home.

Caucasian Shepherds are large, powerful guardian dogs bred to protect their home and family. They can be naturally territorial, independent, strong-willed, and wary of unfamiliar people. They require a committed owner who understands guardian breeds and is prepared to provide appropriate training, management, socialization, and plenty of space.

Anorak is available for meet & greets by appointment. To make sure those interactions are focused on finding the right home, please contact the shelter ahead of time to schedule a time to meet him.

To help ensure Anorak goes to a home prepared for the responsibilities that come with this breed, his adoption will be facilitated in coordination with one of our rescue partners. Potential adopters will need to complete the rescue’s adoption process and meet their home-check and adoption requirements before Anorak can head home.

Anorak may look like one giant, fluffy teddy bear 🐻, but underneath all that fluff is still a Caucasian Shepherd with the instincts and needs that come with the breed. We want his future family to love more than his looks and be fully prepared to provide the environment, structure, and lifelong commitment he needs.
