Crypto’s next phase is looking less like clean institutional adoption and more like a stress test of leverage, funding, and governance. Cboe’s push for 3x Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs lands just as slower ETF demand and corporate treasury selling challenge the growth assumptions behind Wall Street’s biggest Bitcoin forecasts, while Ethereum’s next major upgrade has slipped to late 2026, forcing developers into a two-week scramble to narrow proposals for the 2027 “Hegotá” fork.

That pressure is already visible in company balance sheets. One Bitcoin treasury firm sold 600 BTC yet still faces $60 million due in December, while another diluted shareholders 18-fold to preserve its stash after a $212 million crypto loss. Cardano’s looming governance deadline adds a different reminder: operational structure matters as much as price narratives—even as Ethereum teams race to finalize testnets and EIPs for Glamsterdam and Hegotá without overloading the roadmap.

The global crypto market cap is $2.19 trillion, with a 24-hour volume of $46.82 billion. The price of Bitcoin is $64,087.35, and BTC market dominance is 58.6%. The price of Ethereum is $1,909.44, and ETH market dominance is 10.5%. The best-performing sector is Crowdfunding, which gained 12%. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index is currently Extreme Fear (31).

Platåberget opens Glamsterdam to months of public testing while developers begin deciding which proposals are mature enough to follow it into Hegotá.

Volatility Shares’ proposal needs a special SEC exemption because Cboe’s generic commodity-trust rules explicitly prohibit benchmark multiples.

ARK’s scenario now requires 78.6% annual growth, with institutional allocation and digital gold supplying 92.8% of modeled value.

TRON’s ecosystem enters a new deflationary phase as JST, SUN, BTT, and WIN expand buyback-and-burn programs backed by growing protocol revenue.
