Bitcoin hits $80,000’s doorstep just as the ETF bid disappears for the weekend

Bitcoin is approaching $80,000 after an 11% weekly rally fueled by roughly $1.6 billion in ETF inflows and short liquidations. With ETF and Treasury markets shut for the weekend, the question is whether spot demand can hold the move without the forces that drove it.

Elsewhere, USD1’s reported ability to move funds from frozen wallets raises governance and transparency questions as it seeks final bank approval. Meanwhile, Ethereum researchers are working toward a December zkEVM security target, while MANTRA Chain remains offline pending a patch test after an upstream-dependency exploit.

The global crypto market cap is $2.6 trillion, with a 24-hour volume of $164.89 billion. The price of Bitcoin is $76,949.25, and BTC market dominance is 59.4%. The price of Ethereum is $2,410.13, and ETH market dominance is 11.2%. The best-performing sector is Privacy, which gained 11%. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index is currently Greed (71).
