U.S.-based conservative propagandist Charlie Kirk shot, died at public event

The world has no choice but to look at what happens in the United States, because the United States cannot help but interfere with the world.

It is with these lines that I learned the passing of conservative propagandist and “Israel” mouthpiece Charlie Kirk, of Turning Point USA fame. You may have seen their repurposed memes that were popular some years back:

There’s not a lot to say about Charlie Kirk himself. He died as he lived: spouting racist bullshit. His final words were, verbatim, “Counting or not counting gang violence?” to a question asking about mass shootings in the US.

He was also a huge supporter of “Israel”, even after October 2023. Here he was, a Christian, holding the flag of “Israel” in the occupied city of al-Khalil:

It should come as no surprise that like many conservative figures, Kirk was an “Israeli” asset tasked with propagandizing for the genocidal regime. This explains why only minutes after his killing — at which time the media was reporting that he was still alive but fighting for his life — several “Israeli” officials tweeted eulogies for him. One has to ask: what does one need to do to get this kind of eulogy from a foreign state? I mean, I can’t think of many people who would get mourned by an entire government cabinet. It goes to show how intertwined the imperialism of the US is with the imperialism of “Israel”, the two are inseperable, joined at the hip.

Charlie’s death has indeed become as political as his life, and it could not be any different. As a lapdog for all things reactionary and conservative, he will be squeezed out of whatever blood is still in his body until nothing remains. Donald Trump himself instantly took to his website, truth social, to send his thoughts and prayers to Kirk moments after the shooting.

Let’s talk about the shooting, because there’s a lot of misinformation circulating and there is some perspective to maintain as well.

Kirk was touring college campuses around the US — a favorite activity of conservative mouthpieces, who only seem to debate college freshmen 10-20 years younger than them — and landed in Utah, where he was shot on stage.

There are videos of the moment which I won’t show here, because they don’t change what happened. Kirk can be seen and heard saying his aforementioned last words when seconds later, a shot is heard ringing out and blood spurts out of his neck.

He was not pronounced dead at the scene but rushed to a hospital and announced dead around one hour later.

Neck shots are a favorite of the IOF in Gaza and, combined with the eulogy he received from the “Israeli” cabinet (including Benjamin Mileikowski himself), many people are now wondering if there’s a link. There is also this tweet going around, dated from before the fatal shooting:

The problem is that Kirk was a huge proponent of the genocidal regime and continued to be up until his death. He had no reason to believe he was ever a target, which is not to say he did not believe he could become a target. But they are two different things.

It also reminds us that most propagandists for the settler-colonial regime are paid actors who are aware of the absurdity of what they’re saying.

It seems more likely “Israel” is eulogizing Kirk because he was one of their few dwindling propagandists. “Israel’s” reputation is being propped up artificially by IOF hasbara battalions and paid propagandists. Beyond this layer however, it is instantly clear that their reputation is destroyed. Take this ad “Israel” runs on Youtube, for example:

The ad has gathered 1.3 million views in 1 year, but only 1300 likes. Typically, the ratio is closer to 10-to-1: that is, 10 views for every like, or 10% likes in total. Conversely this video shows a 0.1% ratio of likes.

We must remember that at this time, very little is known about the shooting — and the FBI, who is leading the investigation, is as clueless as we are about it.

What we know is that the shot was taken from 200 yards away (183 meters), and pierced Kirk’s jugular, leading to instantaneous death. the shooter then seemingly escaped as the FBI is still looking for them and doesn’t seem to have any leads.

We have no information about the shooter or their motive at this time. But personally, I’m intrigued by the neck shot. It hit the jugular, leading to instantenous death. This is a very small target compared to his giant head sitting right above it. Does it mean anything? Only time will tell.

Yet, this lack of information has not prevented other conservative figures from instantly politicizing Kirk’s death — the proverbial squeezing of the blood that I mentioned earlier. They have quickly taken to social media to blame the shooting on “leftists” and “democrats”, despite not knowing anything more than you or I, and Trump has promised a martial crackdown already. Not that he needs excuses; he’s been doing whatever he wants in both of his presidencies already.

More broadly, this shooting is both shocking and not shocking to the world. It’s shocking because we are not used to gun violence being committed like this in public — not to the extent the US is. But it’s also not shocking, because any cursory glance at the state of the United States today would tell you one thing: as the material conditions dwindle, people will resort to more and more desperate acts. Not all of them will be linked to demanding better conditions; a lot of it will seem random.

The end of the empire is not pretty, I wrote that years ago already. It’s not sudden, but slow and drawn out. Kirk was just a dot in the grand scheme of things, and Palestine is still the issue.

Live your life in such a way that people won’t make fun of your death.
