It’s often very difficult to see current situations from an accurate perspective, as it is something that we are presently immersed in. That said, I’ll take a crack at it…
Over the history of mankind, there have been several significant revolutions (or evolutions).
I’m interested in what is going on now, as it seems that there are three major revolutions that are converging — and this is not good.
That said, before that we need to first do a quick review of something we know, but rarely reflect on…
Unlike any other animal, we are actually three (3) different beings.
1 - a Physical Being. Although our physical abilities are very good, some other animals have physical abilities we do not have — e.g., birds can fly.
2 - an Intellectual Being. Our thinking abilities far exceed those of other animals. For example, no other animal can do Critical Thinking.
3 - a Spiritual Being. This is where we have a value system, e.g., Judeo-Christian (right and wrong). No other animal has anything comparable.
Every day we experience ALL of these aspects of being human. But the question is: are we really no more than a leaf going along in a stream? Let’s briefly consider some societal developments affecting each of these…
OK, here is my very brief, 30,000-foot view of the recent societal revolutions.
This was a transition from hard manual labor to automation.
The idea was to free up time for more enjoyable things than work.
(There was a multitude of these changes, ranging from a home washing machine to a fossil fuel vehicle.)
This is a transition from adherence to hard religious orthodoxy to relativism.
The idea was to loosen moral restrictions to be able to indulge in more enjoyable things.
(This has had numerous consequences ranging from reduced Church attendance to widespread pornography.)
This is a transition from the hard work of thinking, to having a machine do it for you (AI).
The idea was to loosen time constraints to be able to savor more enjoyable things.
(The consequences of this are just starting to be appreciated, but they frequently fall under the category of doing things that are idiotic.)
One theme should stand out: humans are inclined to want to make things easier and more enjoyable for themselves. But what are the predictable end results for each of these changes?
Less hard work —> results in many more people physically out of shape.
Less hard virtue —> results in many more people spiritually out of shape.
Less hard thought —> results in many more people intellectually out of shape.
So what are we left with? Lots of unhealthy, amoral, dumb people.
Note that these are the antithesis of the founders of America!
My view is that each of these three negative consequences is being purposefully encouraged by anti-Americans and other self-serving parties.
What are the societal implications of having the majority of citizens lazy, amoral, and ignorant? One disturbing answer is now self-evident: many citizens are voluntarily voting for a Socialist/Communist representative!!!
So, the convergence of these three changes makes the job of taking over America easy — no shots need to be fired!
WE need to do a LOT more than shake our heads and tsk!
It starts with Critical Thinking about what is transpiring, and then taking meaningful action to do what WE can do to counter it.
