The format for Cards on the Table is as follows: we meet and discuss a LIE that the world tells us. Then we review and answer 4 discussion questions addressing that lie. We then break into groups of 4 guys to discuss the questions and a few scriptures. And it all takes just one hour.
Recently we discussed RESILIENCE. Here’s what I learned:
• Resilience is the capacity to recover and bounce back despite difficult challenges. Hardship comes, and you are not broken by it.
• We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. (2 Cor. 4: 8, 9)
• But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40: 31)
