I made this album living between the North and the South, in a body straddling pre- and post- HRT, in the middle of genocides and wars and violence done to the working poor. I made it with people I trust, beginning just after Trump’s inauguration and finishing it just before the federal occupation of Minnesota, writing lines inspired by everybody from the trans women who showed me how to take my T shots to the Haitian Revolution to the turkeys that live obstinately on my street, in spite of the government’s best efforts to move them out.
I’m so goddamn proud of this record. I believe in everything we did here. And I would be honored if you pre-ordered a copy, to show my record label that you believe in it, too.
