Hello Team CCC! My new novel ALL GROWN UP is out today. It’s inspired by Little Women. The story is set in the beautiful town of Bramhall, just outside Manchester. Meg, Jo and Amy are all adults, in their twenties, facing various catastrophes and forced to move back home. Their mother, Louisa, has been looking forward to a new chapter of midlife, one where she finally gets to do whatever she likes - and her daughters are cramping her style. But she can’t turn her daughters away. They’re the loves of her life, the beats of her heart - even though they’ve reverted to their teen selves, and they leave trails of dirty cups everywhere they go.

Meg is pregnant, but Louisa doesn’t feel like a grandmother. Especially not when Laurie’s hot business partner Mark is making eyes at her…

ALL GROWN UP is, I hope, a book that will make you laugh, lift you up, comfort you and embrace you. Right now, I want to read books that make me feel joy, and that’s what I’ve done my best to write. As well as being inspired by LM Alcott, it’s an homage to my favourite author, Marian Keyes - if you love reading about the Walsh sisters, I think you’ll love spending time with these March girls. Marian herself says ‘What a gorgeous book! Such a charming, warm, optimistic read, exactly what I crave. Just beautiful. An inspired premise, beautifully executed.'

I’ll be launching the book at Waterstones Trafalgar Square, London tonight, and I’d love to see you there! Find out more here.

I’m so, so grateful to every single one of you who has preordered and supported ALL GROWN UP - every copy counts. And if you’re about to pick up a copy, I hope you love it, and I’d love to hear what you think. You can order a signed, personalised, dedicated copy from The Margate Bookshop here, West End Lane books here, and the Little Green Bookshop (via email) here.

The audiobook has a truly incredible cast, starring some of my favourite comics - Isy Suttie as Louisa, Harriet Kemsley as Meg, Stevie Martin as Jo and Helen Bauer as Amy. Find it on your favourite audio app here.

And if you fancy some further reading, I wrote this piece for sam baker’s The Shift on writing about motherhood, this piece for the Guardian about how my experience of bullying has shaped my relationship with my work and life, and this piece about why I wanted to rewrite Little Women.
