I was about fifteen. Friends (what few I had) were starting to lose their grandparents. And I thought to myself: I’ve never known a single person who died. Ever. And then, God help me, I felt left out.
Yep. That’s how stupid I was.
Fast forward to now. People are dying all around me. Special people. People I know. People I love. People I miss deeply, through flooded eyes.
I’m writing this today because another report just came in regarding a loved one. Cancer. I’ll spare you the details.
But here’s the crazy thing. Death can fire us up to live. Better yet, it should.
You’re alive. You’re reading this. So now what?
What’s your next move, knowing you’re still in the game? Your next thought? Next words? Next action?
Don’t screw around here. I’m serious. You should be too.
It’s crazy out there. We can’t control everything. We can’t control much at all. Some things hit without warning, like cancer. Or addiction. But there are things we can steer.
Our thoughts.
Our beliefs.
Our choices.
Our words.
The way we treat others.
All of it matters.
What are you going to do with what you can control?
Keep coming back. Maybe something I share will help. Better yet, share your thoughts. They might help someone else.
With love and support,
Craig
