The search for Jimothy...

Since August 11, we have been searching for J’imothy. We’ve looked all over Silvermoon, we’ve braved Murder Row, we’ve asked each other about the Thalassian University paw prints way too many times, we’ve scoured Murder Row trash some more while others suggested checking Undermine trash heaps only to be shut down.

See… this past Tuesday, J’imothy was added to World of Warcraft along with the Curse of Ula’tek patch 12.1. Only he’s a secret pet, so he must be found in order to add him to your companions.

Let me share some of the clues we have so far:

Working from this information, we’ve searched every piece of Silvermoon, and before you ask, yes we checked old Silvermoon too. We’ve tried running around with another raccoon pet, tried using the ‘trashmaster’ title, and even tried the selfie-cam. Many of us have run delves, the Murder Row dungeon, and asked about the ‘Gardening Notes - TOP SECRET’ note but still, no new intel.

The main consensus is that he is trapped, and should at least be claimed in Silvermoon. We need to find him, save him, pet him and then he will be ours.

But where do you begin? Where do you start searching? What are you looking for?

I’ve never participated in a World of Warcraft secret hunt, but after mulling over the clues we have so far, my guess is that he’s somewhere in the Voidstorm. Here’s what I think happened…

Lil J’imothy was wandering about being all cute and stumbled upon some delicious magical trash. Upon sniffing his way through all the goodies he was captured and teleported to the Voidstorm where he is being held captive in a barrier bubble. Once he is found, we can dispell the barrier, teleport him back to the safety of Silvermoon, pet his cute lil head and claim him as our own J’imothy.

So, naturally I took a trip to the Voidstorm. I began my search at the Stormarion Citadel, I drifted over to the Nexus-Point Antius and then I ran into a world event. I ended up finishing the event, looked around some more and then ran into a fishing bubble. I couldn’t just leave it un-fished… so I sat there and fished until it disappeared. This heightened my interest in fishing, so i ended up flying over to the Voidscar Arena which was surprisingly empty! This is one of two areas in the Voidstorm where you can actually fish. The rest of the fishing in the zone is all bubbles, so this was a pretty busy area for a while. Anyways, I ended up fishing and kinda dropped my search for the night.

Your girl can’t help but get some fishing in… Sorry J’imothy.

So if i can hold out on fishing and actually continue my search in the Voidstorm, I imagine he could be found and then teleported back to Silvermooon. This is just my wild thinking, like i said I’ve never tried searching secrets.

To be honest, it’s been kind of fun. I already enjoy looking at the tiny details in games so it just gives me a reason to look even closer.

Hold on just a bit longer J’imothy! We’re doing our best and trying every weird thing we can think of, we shall find you soon enough!

On a side note, this new patch also gives you the ability to have pets (companions) in your home. All you need is a pet bed and you can select a pet to have wander around or remain in its bed. New beds can be purchased from Perry Winkles, the new vendor in Founder’s Point. I somehow had two pet cages in my inventory so I added my chicken and my favorite frog, Dali, to roam around my home. It makes the house feel more alive and extra cozy!

So if you get a chance, grab yourself a pet bed and give your house that extra dash of coziness! Then while you’re out wandering the world, keep an eye out for lil J’imothy, he’s countin’ on us!
