The Quieter Your Mind, The Louder The Beauty

Cory Allen · Clarity with Cory

The quieter your mind gets, the louder the beauty becomes.

Most of us spend our days moving through life with so much mental noise that we barely notice how much is already here.

We’re thinking about what happened yesterday, what needs to happen tomorrow, what someone meant by what they said, what we should be doing, what we might be missing, and what could go wrong next.

Meanwhile, life keeps happening quietly around us.

Light moves across the wall. Someone you love laughs in the next room. The wind shifts. A bird lands nearby. Your coffee warms your hands. Your body breathes on its own.

None of these things are particularly dramatic, which is exactly why they’re so easy to miss.

We tend to think beauty needs to be extraordinary to get our attention. But often, the problem isn’t that life has stopped being beautiful.

It’s that our minds have become too loud to notice.

When you slow down, you begin to experience ordinary things with more depth. A walk feels different when you aren’t rushing because you finally notice everything happening around you. Conversations change when you’re actually listening because you don’t just hear their words, you begin to hear where they’re coming from. Meals become more satisfying when you truly taste them instead of tasting your expectation of them.

When you experience this, nothing outside of you has changed.

Your attention did. And awareness has a way of illuminating even the most ordinary things.

This is one of the reasons I value quiet so much. Quiet doesn’t take you out of your life. It returns you to it, creates space, and makes the subtle richness of your existence become visible again.

You notice what feels good, feel gratitude for being alive, receive the abundance of the present moment, and relax fully into yourself.

And that’s the trick. There’s nothing to gain, no status to reach, no magic amount of money you can accumulate that will finally make you happy, and no one that you have to become.

You just have to loosen your grip on all the urgency, become present enough to experience what is already here, and enjoy this moment in which you are alive and full of beautiful energy.

Sure, there will always be problems to solve, challenges to overcome, tension that stresses you out, and things that weigh heavily on your heart.

But your life isn’t happening in that noise.

It’s happening underneath it.

You just have to become quiet enough to notice.

Sending love and slowness,
Cory
