We’ll cover the QE/Not QE (but definitely is QE!) in tomorrow’s Market Wrap. For gold though, the reaction to the US Treasury buyback operation announcement on Wednesday 19th August was swift.
And it kept rising from thereon in, finishing the week very strongly at $4,602.66 (up $226.41 or 5.17%). Note that gold has now surpassed its 200-day moving average.
It was a similar case for Silver as it finished the week $68.94 (up $4.23 or 6.55%), although it didn’t surpass its 200-day moving average.
