Contest Every Race exists to solve deep, entrenched problems in our democracy, which a single campaign or election cycle alone can’t fix. But over the past year, even amidst dark times, we made great strides. We’re in this work for the long haul – and today, we’re excited to share some updates on our progress over the past year.
Our 2025 Impact Report is now live.
Inside: our full 2025 numbers, how the candidate recruitment and grants programs work, what county parties are doing with the support, and what’s next in 2026.

In 2025, Contest Every Race recruited 908 candidates to run for local office. 444 of them won their races. And we got $503,000 in grants out the door to 390 local Democratic teams organizing year-round in their communities.
The stakes are bigger than any single race. Nearly half of local races nationwide go uncontested, which means MAGA extremists walk into empty seats and build power in communities where no one is organizing against them. That’s the gap we’re closing, race by race, county by county.
This work happens because of people who invest in the long game of rebuilding local Democratic infrastructure.
Thank you for being part of it.
