On October 14, Caezik Science Fiction releases Minute Men: Execute & Run, the first installment of a planned series featuring commandoes with four incredible superpowers … and one shared liability.
Unlike comic book heroes, these characters are all too human, saddled with bodies that can not long sustain the energies that fuel their transformations.
Thus, within the span of a minute, each member of the Minute Men team will go from invincible to incapacitated.
No single warrior can carry the day. Teamwork is key. Going it alone is their kryptonite.
Over the past five months, this newsletter has garnered a dedicated following. We’re thankful that each of you has joined the team. And now, with the release of Minute Men: Execute & Run nearly upon us, we hope you will play a part in helping us ensure a successful launch.
When the book releases, we humbly ask that you consider doing the following:
Order Minute Men: Execute & Run in either print or ebook on October 14. Naturally, you are welcome to pre-order if you like, but ordering on the day of release will contribute to a surge that we hope will encourage booksellers to promote the book to more of their customers.
Post an honest review on your favorite book site (such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or BAM). Again, October 14 is the day to do this. Most sites do not accept reviews until the book is released.
Spread the word by posting on social media and telling your friends about the book.
Last week, the final batch of advance copies went out to all newsletter challenge winners.
If you’re one of those winners, please take a moment to share your thoughts with us. We’ll endeavor to include some of your comments in future newsletters.
In the meantime, here are a few words from World Fantasy Award nominee Michael Libling, author of the critically acclaimed novels Hollywood North and The Serial Killer’s Son Takes a Wife:
Coming up with an exciting new concept in the superhero genre is no easy feat, but the Connolly brothers have pulled it off in rousing fashion. Prepare to be blown away, and then some!
MINUTE MEN: EXECUTE & RUN just might be the book Stan Lee and Jack Kirby would have written had they been novelists rather than comic book creators. All the ingredients are here in an origin story sparkling with originality. A ragtag team of all-too-human superheroes, men and women forced together by science, subterfuge, and their own startling limitations. A disparate crew of villains, the ones you recognize right off and the ones you never see coming, including the most intriguing evil entity in recent memory. And it’s all served up with heart-pounding action that keeps you hooked first page to last.
Clever. Entertaining. Compelling. If ever a story deserves a big-screen treatment, this spectacularly rendered thrill ride is it. MINUTE MEN: EXECUTE & RUN...RUN is right! RUN to read it now!
Thank you, Michael! And thanks as well to the other advance readers who have already shared their thoughts with us.
Again, we’ll share more of those reviews in our next installment, but first … since Michael mentioned MM: E&R’s “disparate crew of villains,” let’s return for a moment to the Newsletter Challenge from our previous installment.
Recognize any of them? Hint: one is from a comic series we mentioned back in May. And surprisingly, that evil baddie has an evil twin—one we didn’t even know about until one of our readers pointed it out.

Our next issue drops on release day, October 14.
Until then:
… and make every second count!
