Welcome back to the Comuzi newsletter. In this issue, our co-founder Lex invites you into an AI exploration. We also introduce you to our new offering for organisations: Generative AI Workshops and Sprints, led by Comuzi.
When OpenAI introduced ChatGPT to the world last November, I had never seen anything like it before. The fastest-growing software application in history and almost overnight, the generative AI hype train began and it has just kept moving and moving.
I have always been a skeptic of emerging technology trends and hype trains at times, as while there is temptation to want to be involved with the hype and make your coin for the season. Trying to stay true and integral to the mission is key.
I first explored AI through the lens of my master thesis tackling racial and gender bias in applied AI systems, which helped paved the way for COMUZI to explore how AI could be deployed in society for a number of years ranging from projects that include The Ethical Futures of AI workshop with Fearless Futures, AI Cheatsheet, Feminist Voice Bots, Designing Explainable Algorithms with Projects by IF, DeathbotBeta, F’xa, our workshop on how does AI augment human relationships at the Tate Modern, The Invisible Mask, The Hip Hop Poetry Bot & our most recent generative AI project with IBM’s The Weather Company and GPJ.
We really have been about this AI life for a long time, before the hype train came and we will most likely be here after it leaves. However, the world of business has its eyes on the potential of generative AI, and will most likely need help understanding its nuances and implications.
But how does one break through the intimidating jargon and delve into the practical, transformative aspects of this technology? We want to help organisations achieve this in the COMUZI way of working: a blend of play, exploration, and hands-on experimentation, designed to illuminate the vast possibilities of GenAI.
By fusing play and experimentation, we're not just adding fun to the learning process. These elements are fundamental to fostering creativity, stimulating innovation, and promoting a deeper understanding of complex subjects. We hope that our approach will empower organisations and individuals to explore the technology's potential with an open mind, free of preconceived notions or constraints.
Going on a journey with us means gaining access to a ton of benefits (here comes the corporate lingo):
Real expertise: Dive into GenAI alongside leading experts, and elevate your grasp of this technology through playful exploration.
Experimentation: Arm yourself with practical skills and experience, gained through active experimentation, ensuring AI seamlessly integrates into your business dynamics.
Innovation via Play: Spark creativity and innovation by treating GenAI as a canvas for ideation, prototyping, and strategizing.
Ethical Exploration: Venture into AI's ethical dimensions with guidance, championing a responsible and socially-aware approach to AI deployment.
We recognize that the current financial landscape poses challenges for many organisations. With economic uncertainties looming, making large investments in new ventures or training can feel risky.
That is why we have decided to offer our services through bite-sized workshops and sprints. These offerings are not only tailored to give participants a deep dive into the world of GenAI but are also structured to be a more accessible and immediate way to harness the power of AI.
It's our way at COMUZI of ensuring that, even in challenging times, innovation and learning don't have to take a backseat.
If you are interested in harnessing the power of Generative AI through an immersive, hands-on experience? Hit me up and we can talk about our workshops and sprints in more detail, each tailored to turn curiosity into capability.
