Network Animations: Knowledge Transfer Simulations of Margaret Cavendish and the Royal Society

We’re sharing here new work from Peter West on the project New Digital Methods for Understanding the Impacts of Early Women Writers on the Development of Science and Philosophy.

This week’s post shares an exhibit from Women Writers in Context, part of Northeastern University’s Women Writers Project. The authors are Brian Ball and Peter West (faculty members in Philosophy at Northeastern University London), together with two former Philosophy students:

The project is supported (along with NU London, NULab and the Center for Design) by the Northeastern University Women Writers Project (WWP). This is “a long-term research project devoted to early modern women’s writing and electronic text encoding.”

“Our goal is to bring texts by pre-Victorian women writers out of the archive and make them accessible to a wide audience of teachers, students, scholars, and the general reader. We support research on women’s writing, text encoding, and the role of electronic texts in teaching and scholarship.”
