Today I finished the Dice Catcher game from the tutorial series I'm going through! Apologies for the lack of sound, I am still having issues with sound capture, but hopefully the video demonstrates the game.

In case you didn’t know, the Godot docs have a good FAQ page. One of them is about why the team chose to start GDScript. Check it out here . In that section is some cool history- like how they used Lua first!?
A quick PSA that GodotFest is happening for anyone who can make it! Link: https://godotengine.org/article/godotfest-2026 I won’t be there, but I hope you can be! Also, for anyone who can’t make it, there are recorded talks online . Hopefully 2026 talks will be up there also!
Today, there's not really a post, it's just me telling you that you should go read this page in the Godot Docs: Data preferences . If you are doing any sort of serious or real programming in Godot with GDScript, this will help you approach the problems you run into with recommended data structures that might best solve those problems. It might also help people understand a bit more about why CS…
Godot’s FAQ section details a great note about the speed of GDScript versus the other Godot supported languages (C# and C++, though there are more via GDExtensions, of course). There is a key note worth sharing; C# might sometimes be faster than GDScript, but it can be less performant due to marshalling . You can check out the Wikipedia article for the definition, but what you basically need to…
A good friend shared this video with me, so I could share it on a post. Has anyone seen this or tried it out yet? What a great concept! (And I love that it’s optional… non optional hubs are not good.) GodotHub, a way to manage Godot installations… https://youtube.com/watch?v=ntStEGRfWb8
Godot’s debugging just got a huge upgrade. Finding errors will be much easier with the ability to have underlined warnings and errors! Check out the details here ; this is the screenshot they shared from their page: So cool 👏
Today I worked on the dice catcher game from the tutorial, adding music and the fox with movement. I would normally post a video but I am having audio capture issues, so here is a screenshot!
Today’s post is a question. Does anyone know some good writing that breaks down games, with technical details? I know there are plenty of YT breakdowns, but I’m looking for writing about games that really go into the technical aspects, so someone can learn and apply them to their own games. To illustrate what I’m looking for, Fabien Sanglard ’s DOOM book would be a prime example!
Well, I didn’t expect to recommend another talk so soon. But this one is too good to ignore. Imagine if developers (really, more so, it’s the leadership and product people at companies) took the software / video game industry this seriously? We might be living in another world.
