The DC Universe (DCU) continues to expand on screen. Following the release of the Supergirl film and ahead of the body horror story Clayface, the new television series Lanterns is set to premiere at the end of this week on 16 August 2026. Running for eight episodes, it will air on HBO (and HBO Max) until 4 October.
While the television series has been presented as a neo-western detective story in the vein of True Detective, the Green Lanterns are most and foremost space cops in the pages of DC Comics (although, yes, sometimes, stuck on Earth!).
In all cases, between some Batman or Queen in Black issues, this is the perfect time to take a journey through space with some of the coolest characters of the DC Universe.

This an introduction to the most famous members of the Corps, from the human figures such as Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner and Jessica Cruz, to the iconic alien members such as Kilowog, Tomar-Re, or even sometimes the dangerous Sinestro.
✯John Stewart’s Evolution: From Green Lantern Backup to Corps Leader. John Stewart is one of the main characters in the Green Lantern TV show, played by actor Aaron Pierre. Created by Dennis O’Neil and Neal Adams in Green Lantern Vol. 2 #87 (1971), he was one of the first African-American superheroes to appear in a DC comic. However, he did not immediately go on to have great cosmic adventures, and this article examines his evolution from his creation as a man shaped by tragedy and failure to become the natural leader he was destined to be.
🌈 Green Lantern: The Emotional Spectrum Explained. There is no Green in the title of the television series, but colors are important in the world of Green Lantern, more so since Geoff Johns introduced the Emotional Spectrum in the Green Lantern mythos. This is a little reminder of what the most important color means in DC Space.

Still no Kyle Rayner volume 2 in the Compendium collection, but the third volume, Blackest Night, in the Geoff Johns’s Green Lantern Saga has been announced among other titles.
